KEVIN SEWARD

Obituary of KEVIN PETER SEWARD

Kevin Peter Seward passed away peacefully in South Lake Tahoe, CA on June 20th, 2020 at the age of 72. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Florence (aka Dede), sons Tim and David, brothers Ed and Terry, sister Sharon, daughter-in-law Stephanie, and Jill who looks after his beloved 3yo. grandson, Spencer. The Seward family and countless other longtime friends, nieces, nephews, brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws are all paying tribute to Kevin’s legacy and the memories they shared with him. Kevin was born at Lying-In Hospital in Providence, RI, and at a young age the Seward family left Rhode Island for new opportunities, moving to Long Beach, CA., Fort Huachuca, AZ., San Diego, CA., and then Sunnyvale, CA. After he graduated in 1965 from Homestead High School, in Cupertino, CA., he volunteered in the military, serving for four years in the US Air Force. Kevin later worked in real estate and property management for over 50 years in the California Bay Area, retiring in 2016 and moving to a second home with his wife in the peaceful foothills of Coarsegold, CA. Some of Kevin’s fondest memories were the times he spent with his family celebrating life to its fullest. He was a generous, caring husband, father, and grandfather; family was everything to him. He’s often described as a renaissance man who shared his remarkable knowledge and experiences with those he loved dearly. He loved fishing, crabbing, and hunting with his brother Terry. He was a dedicated father whose passion and appreciation for nature, art, camping, fishing, and vacationing are still deeply ingrained with his two sons. He will be remembered affectionately for his wonderful sense of humor and playfulness. He always loved traveling to see the great outdoors, the ocean, and beautiful sunsets in Hawaii. His favorite pastimes were watercolor painting, making pottery, and cooking an infinite amount of recipes. While he will be deeply missed by his family and friends, we know he is at peace overlooking a beautiful endless sea and smiling down on his loved ones. A private celebration of his life was held with immediate family members, and we aim to reunite with a larger celebration of life at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Kevin’s honor to be sent to Yosemite Conservancy or Keep Tahoe Blue , as they will help preserve and protect the natural treasures he wants future generations to enjoy. Photo memories are welcomed and will be added to an album of his life.
