Obituary of ANN HELEN WAGNER
Ann Marie (Carlton) Wagner passed into the presence of her Lord on February 17th, 2018. She passed away from heart failure in El Dorado Hills. Loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she was preceded in death by her husband John Wagner and son, David Carlton and brother John DiDonna. Her son, Alan Carlton of Shingle Springs and her daughter Linda Sinnwell of El Dorado Hills, nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and her brother Anthony DiDonna survive her.
Ann was born in Jackson Heights, New York, January 15, 1932 and moved as a teens to Sacramento, California with her Italian immigrant parents. A resident of Shingle Springs since 1956 -with the exception of a couple of years of adventure in Montana and Oregon- she raised her family there. Ann had an infectious laugh and saw the humor in so much of life. She shared that trait with her children and there were always many laughs and games at family gatherings. She loved entertaining and feeding people and most family holidays and ‘soup nights’ ended up in her home.
Ann loved music and was a piano teacher and church organist when her children were growing up. As they became teenagers she wanted to contribute outside of the home and was a librarian’s assistant at Buckeye School in Shingle Springs. Her many talents led her to cook meals for shut-ins, crochet caps for preemie babies and enjoy remodeling and decorating her homes.
Ann followed the Lord Jesus Christ joyfully and faithfully and rarely passed up the chance to put her faith into action or share her personal story with one in need. Her abundant faith was a source of great encouragement to others and herself.
She will be missed until we get to see her again but what a homecoming that will be. A celebration of her life will be held at the New Hope Fellowship at 3838 Ponderosa Road, Shingle Springs, CA on March 12th at 2 PM.
