Obituary of Serena Marlette Zapata

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart to announce that our beautiful daughter Serena returned to heaven on September 22, 2022.

Our angel was born to her mother Rosette and Mario Zapata on November 18, 1997 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Stockton, California.

During Serena’s short time with us, she strived to be the most encouraging, most inspirational, and most loyal daughter, sibling, and friend.

Her passing away is a devastating and heartbreaking and hard reality to accept. Our precious and dearly loved Serena was definitely an angel brought to us from the Most High to  show us his glory. She walked like heaven on Earth by displaying her bearing fruits of the Spirit in love, gentleness, kindness, meekness, long suffering, slow to anger, and faithfulness.

Our lovely Serena was born with a big affectionate heart, caring spirit, and warm embrace. She always welcomed everyone with a radiant, gorgeous smile that just lit up the room and captured your heart. She was always delightful and loved to welcome a warm and sincere hug as well.

She had an instant acceptance to take an offer to spend time with family and friends and made sure they knew how happy she was to be with them. Her love for her family comes from heaven. Her family meant the world to her and it didn’t matter how far away they were, she always showed how much she loved them in her prayers.

Our precious Serena loved every one of God’s  creations and admired them by exploring through serene hiking trails around El Dorado County to feel His Most High’s presence.

Her passion was to show so much love and care and support to her mother, father, siblings, family, church, community, city, state, nation, to all around the world by making many contributions and especially anything that had to do with saving of lives on Earth and for winning souls of all her family and friends and anyone she could to Our Lord & Savior Christ Jesus since becoming born again and saved on June 26, 2022, the day she was Baptized by Pastor Don in Solid Rock Faith Center in Placerville, California, who she highly admired.

Her hobbies were Reading her Bible, Praying, studying & journaling in her Bible, sharing the Gospel, watching Billy Graham Classics on YouTube, singing Psalms, hiking in El Dorado County, horticulture interests and arts & crafts with her mother and siblings and niece and nephew.

We are truly going to miss her so much and every memory of her will be cherished by us all. We can’t wait with great anticipation to see her again in heaven so we can join her with her loving embrace and see that beautiful smile again so we can dance on gold streets with her singing joyful praises to Our Lord.

“Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” And he said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment. The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be my son. But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.””
