My wife and I (Robin & Joanne Miller) only recently became aware of Vince passing. We are so sorry to hear this Minh!
I've known Vince since 1974 when I joined Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) in Westminster, MA. We also worked together at Project Software & Development (PSDI) in Cambridge, MA where we car pooled together for ~3 years. We visited Vince & Minh in Hawaii in 2005 (attached picture), and they let me stay with them several times while I worked in CA. He was a good friend and will be missed. I'm thankful for the times we had together from golfing, bowling, and working together.
Minh, please let's keep in touch and let us know of anything you need. Mesquite, NV is not too far away.

Many times we had the chance to be in the company of Vince, and he was always the kindest and most caring man I had come to know. He always seeked to give us assistance with anything although we never seemed to need it, and he had a very calm manner with whatever he was doing and of course never raised his voice. Such a lovely gentleman and will be miserably missed.

Hi Minh. Please accept our condolences for your loss. As you know, I had only known Vince fairly recently and, regrettably, didn't have that many opportunities to interact with him. But even with those limited opportunities, I was able to see that he was a generous, kind, and helpful person. He had never said no anytime we ever asked for help or advice.
I remember him helping Khiêm with his Eagle project, where Vince accidentally badly cut his finger on a table saw, but he just brushed it off as nothing big because he didn't want us to feel bad. Or when he loaned us a sander so Khiêm could use for his project and when we burned up the motor, he wouldn't accept any forms of reparation for the damage and simply contributed it to the sander as being too old.
I also remember Vince being very knowledgeable and skilled at all the home improvement projects. I remember asking him all sorts of questions on how to do certain things, from how he built the chicken coop to the gazebo to how to winterize the RV. He always took the time to patiently explain and show how he did it. He was such a great handyman and a good teacher.
One memory that stood out for me was when we were all at your house making mooncakes about three years ago. I remember Vince patiently watching us working, walking back and forth and offered to help but when we said we got it, he mainly tried his best to stay out of the way of all the bustle at the kitchen for the rest of the evening. Afterwards, we had a late, late dinner but Vince was as gracious as ever even though it was way past his normal time to eat and he also had to help clean up the table because we had made such a big mess.
I will always remember Vince for his patience and gentleness. And I wish for you to find peace and comfort in the memories you both shared. Vince is gone but the cherished memories you have with him will live on and, as such, he will continue to be by your side.
A few days after we made mooncakes at your house, I wrote a poem about that night when after dinner we all went outside to sit at the gazebo that Vince built, and had tea and mooncakes and tried to sing Tết Trung Thu songs. Upon hearing Vince's passing, I reflected at the memories I have of Vince and remembered that poem and the memories of that day, with you and with Vince. And so I'm sharing it with you now to relive a sweet memory with Vince. Please take care.

Dear Vince
You did leave us, all and your beautiful, gifted,’loving and devoted wife, too soon. We, Mitch and Minh Chau are so fortunate to know you and Minh Nguyen more than ten years ago. You are, both the most kind and loving couple we’ve ever known. You love life, Minh and your family fully and devotedly. Super parent, super husband and super handyman, you can build and fix anything, and an incredible chess player. Your quiet, loving way, your gentle smile and humor will be in our hearts for always. We are honored and privilege to be with you a few days before you left this world. May you Rest In Heavenly Peace.

Uncle Vince (my favorite uncle!)
You made sure we KNEW for certain we were loved and that we, your family, were important. Actions speak louder than words, and you lived a life full of actions that reflected your values.
Thank you for making sure we all saw each other annually when we were kids, thank you for picking up the bill quietly each and every time I planned a family get together (sneaky!) and thank you for making sure everyone around you knew they mattered to you. You certainly mattered to us, and we will miss you forever.
All my love to Minh, Audra, Robin, Chris and the kiddos who got to dote on you much more often than the rest of us did. Your presence will be missed by them most of all, and my heart is with each of you. ❤️
