Obituary of Joyce Elaine Connaway

Joyce Elaine Helverson Connaway, 82 years old, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2022, at the home of her daughter, Jill Connaway, in Greenwood, California. She was born in Kansas City, Missouri on March 8, 1940, to Vernon Menford and Eva Ruth Murray Helverson and lived in the KCMO area for most of her life. She graduated from Southeast High School in 1958. She was a secretary at Avon at the Kansas City branch from 1967-1972. Later, she was self-employed and was a much beloved Regional Coordinator at EF High School Exchange where she was a host parent and coordinated host families for foreign exchange students. She joins her parents, Vernon and Eva; brothers, Larry Menford Helverson and Eldon Lee Helverson; and sister, Verna Ruth (Helverson) Shelton in the great beyond. She requested that there be no funeral or service, but friends and family should celebrate her in whatever way feels right to them.
