Obituary of Nathaniel Carl Battig
Nathaniel Battig (43) passed away in a car accident traveling solo to Lake Tahoe on February 19th, 2022.
Nathaniel was born to Magdalena and Tony Battig on July 7, 1978 in Modesto, California. He attended Shiloh School Elementary and graduated from Modesto High School in 1996. After transferring from Modesto Junior College, he graduated from Chico State University with a Bachelor’s in Agriculture in 2002.
Growing up helping on the family farm, it was only natural that he would take over the family business. After working for over a decade with Nutrien Ag solutions, he became the in-house PCA for M3 West Incorporated. When he wasn’t working on the farm or providing chemical and pest advising to his many westside clients, Nathaniel enjoyed skiing, biking, and spending time with his friends and family. He was an active member of the Old Fisherman’s Club and was committed to his weekly Tuesday night Ride-Like-Roy Rides.
Nathaniel is survived by his parents, his siblings; Jonathan Battig (Maegan), Raphael Battig (Yolanda), Alessandra Battig-Taylor (Brent), his nieces and nephews; Kyler, Adelynn, Aaleyah, Landyn, Ivyn, and his loving girlfriend Katie Cosner.
A memorial service will be held at San Joaquin Valley Swiss Club on Sunday, March 6 from 1:00- 5:00 pm. Lunch will be served at 2:00 pm. A tribute 20-mile mountain bike ride will be held in Nathaniel’s honor at 8 am at East La Loma Park on March 6th.
