Obituary of Daniel "Danny" Allen Dulany
Daniel “Danny” Allen Dulany passed away on September 9, 2021.
Danny was born in June of 1944 in Fresno, California. Later, when he was just a small child, Danny, his mom, and older brother moved for a short time to Oregon to live with his grandparents while his Dad served in the U.S. Navy. After his dad’s discharge from the Navy, his family settled in Glendale, Oregon. In 1962, Danny and his family moved to Auburn, California when Danny was a freshman in high school. Danny graduated from Placer High in 1962.
After high school, Danny attended Sierra College until he was drafted into the Army during the Vietnam war. During his Army years, he was stationed in Virginia and later in SanFrancisco where he worked in the postal department and was the driver for the generals who were stationed there. One general commented on his odd way of braking with his left foot and accelerating with his right.
Upon his release from the Army, in 1969, Danny returned to Auburn. He soon began working at Cool Forest, owned by Bruce Wadsworth, where he began his life’s work in reforestation projects. While working at Cool Forest, he met the boss’ daughter, Carol, and they were married in June, 1973.
Danny loved serving in the Scouting program in Georgetown. He served in many positions with BSA Scout Troop 959. This was a great opportunity for him to spend time with his son, Sean as one of his scouting leaders. He had a lot of fun experiences in scouting with camping, hiking and the other activities that go along with scouting. One of his most fond memories were the two trips he got to take with the scouts to Mexico. It involved a lot of fundraising with the boys, big travel plans including a stop at Disneyland on the way home and making other great memories throughout the trips. Danny was also an avid fisherman. He had some great times with his fishing buddies Alan Bosch and Tom Richey.
Danny is survived by his wife Carol Wadsworth Dulany, his 2 children, Sean Dulany and Sara Dulany Aldrich, his son-in-law Jason Aldrich, his 3 grandchildren Hanna, Noah and Ian Aldrich, and his brother Glenn “Duke” Dulany. He was preceded in death by his parents Don and Faye Dulany.
Danny’s funeral services will be held Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Georgetown Ward building of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 7280 Prospect Hill Dr, Georgetown, CA.
