Anita Louise Rhoades, aka Frog Lady, of Pine Grove passed away in Sacramento, California on March 31, 2021, at the age of 78. She was born on March 26, 1943, in Woodward, Oklahoma to Arthur and Mary Dean.
Anita worked in retail for many years including the Clothes Mine, Sierra Trading Post, and the Jackson Rancheria Casino. She enjoyed going to car shows, restoring classic cars, taking country drives, collecting frogs and bells, putting together puzzles, crocheting, watching baseball games, and visiting friends and family on her patio.
She is preceded in death by her father Arthur Dean, mother Mary Dean, brother Jimmy Dean, and daughter Jane Lemire. Anita is survived by her husband of more than 30 years, John Rhoades of Pine Grove, children Gene Martin of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Tammy Finch of Ione, Mike Huss (Karen) of Ione, brother Lester Dean (Betty) of Powder Springs, Georgia, grandchildren Matthew Huss, Mia Huss, Michelle French, and Joshua Martin, and numerous nieces and nephews. Anita was blessed to have her “adopted” children Isabelle Casagrande and Jim McDonald, and her stepchildren Lisa Faull (Phil), Richard Rhoades, and Jeff Rhoades. She is sorely missed by her cats Sassy, Billy, and Maverick.
At the family’s request there will be no services. Internment will take place at Whitmore Evangelical Cemetery in Whitmore, California.
