Obituary of James "Jim" Anthony Somatis

James “Jim” Somatis, age 83, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 21st, 2021, with his loving partner Sandy by his side. Jim loved his beer, fishing, sailing, his cats and his hats, his doves, his dog, Misha, and most of all his honey, Sandy. Jim retired from Aerojet in Rancho Cordova, CA, but had been recalled a number of times to do another one of his loves, metallurgy. His time with Aerojet totaled almost 50 years. Before his diagnosis Jim had been weak but alway kept a positive outlook on the things he had to do and believed that he could do them. Jim will rest peacefully at Walnut Grove where his house boat was docked, as well as Eagle Lake, Lassen Co., where he loved to fish. In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to the Nature Conservancy, Showline Hospice, or another charity of your choice.
