Obituary of RONALD BRUCE ADAMS
Bruce Adams died 08/21/2020 age 81 at Western Slope Health Center, after suffering a stroke January 2019 in Placerville, CA.
He was born in Atascadero, CA in 1938 and graduated from Santa Maria High School in 1957. He attended University of Pacific in Stockton, CA on a football scholarship and, graduated from San Jose State with a BA in Public Administration, and Masters in Public Administration from Humboldt State.
He worked many government jobs. McClellan Air Force Base as a Civilian, San Luis Obispo County in County Administration, Mono County in Bridgeport as County Administrator. Hughson City Manager, Humboldt County Assistant Administrator, Douglas County Administrator. Minden, NV, and Finance Office of El Dorado Irrigation District in Placerville, CA.
He was active in sports. Played semi-pro football for The Sacramento Laceris, snow skied 3 days a week until age 77, ran 1/2 marathons and Bay to Breakers. Enjoyed golfing, hiking, fishing and scubas diving from his ocean boat in Morro Bay.
He and his wife were frequent RV 5th wheel travelers, including 3 cross country trips. They took many cruises and foreign country trips and visited every major wine country in the world.
He belonged to the Sacramento MG Club and was a Docent at California Town Auto Museum in Sacramento and El Dorado wine analyst.
He was an award winning wine maker at his coop winery in Pollock Pines.
He leaves behind his wife Barbara of 59 years, 2 sons, 3 granddaughters and his beloved cats that often visited at Western Slope Health Center.
