There are no words that can express our feelings of sadness over the tragic loss of our grandson Jonathan. From the moment he was born he brought pure joy to our lives. Early on he had a smile and a twinkle in his eye that would melt your heart.
He discovered the wonderful feeling of accomplishment at a very young age. He had a work ethic that was unsurpassed. As a young teenager he was always searching for work that he could do. He was always very helpful to us, and frequently helped with the yard work, moving furniture, yard sales, and many other tasks. To our blessing this trait continued throughout his life. We could not have asked for a more helpful, loving grandson.
Jonathan’s love of knowledge was so exciting and rewarding to watch. We took him on several trips and he was so interested and excited learning about our history and the world of nature. His love of the nature and being outdoors continued into adulthood. His knowledge of trees and plants were unsurpassed. He loved hiking, fishing and camping with friends and family.
We were so blessed to have him in our lives for 23 years, and so saddened that we no longer have him with us. We spent a lot of time with Jonathan, and we have many wonderful memories of our time together. It is so sad a promising life was cut so short, but we know he is now in God’s hands. We know that he loved us and will always be with us. He will always be loved and remembered. Jonathan is in our hearts forever. We are of faith and know we will be with him again. We know Jonathan is already working on the garden of his dreams.
Jonathan was a good man, and a kind, considerate and loving grandson and we will truly miss him.

Jon Jon was a wonderful, sweet boy. Even as a toddler, he had a calm temperament and as he grew he always took things in stride. As he became a teanager, I could see the man that he would become - strong, steadfast and assured. We are both so heartbroken to have lost our oldest son before he could make all those dreams come true.
