Obituary of NATHANIEL DAVID PANEC
Nathaniel David Panec passed away unexpectedly on May 7, 2019 at the age of 28 in
Shingle Springs CA.
Nathan lived most of his life in El Dorado county and loved the natural beauty of the
region. He loved the mountains, the rivers and the native plants that grew in the area.
He loved to explore the area, would hike in the local trails and knew the difference
between all the native oak species. He could talk at length about the native plants and
enjoyed seeing the beauty of the California poppies. He was convinced that there was
still gold in the hills, waiting to be discovered. He also loved bonsai and his cactus and
spent many hours caring for his assorted plants.
Although Nathan also struggled with mental illness, which sometimes isolated him from
the love of his family and friends and made it difficult to be with him, he was deeply
loved and will be missed by many.
He is survived by his parents, Renée and David Panec, by his brothers Jacob and
Gabriel, by his paternal grandparents Sherry and Don Panec and his maternal
grandmother Audrey Forgette and by more Aunts, Uncles and cousins and friends than
we can list.
Services will be held at the Federated Church in Placerville, 1031 Thompson Way,
Placerville, CA 95667, on Monday, May 20 at 2 PM. There will be a traditional service
followed by a Celebration of Life, where stories and memories of Nathan can be shared
over a food and drink. Nathan was casual, please feel free to dress as you would feel
most comfortable.
If you are so moved, donations to NAMI https://namieldoradocounty.org/donate_now/
