Obituary of MARCENE DOLORES ZURMUHLEN
Marcene Dolores Zurmuhlen, 86, passed away on March 26, 2019 from natural causes in the Placerville Marshall Hospital. She lived with Dementia and COPD for as long as she could.
Marcene was born on March 6, 1933 in Hildreth, Nebraska to Glen and Marjorie (McCombs) Strong. She married Phil Zurmuhlen on August 13, 1955 in Hayward, California and they were married for 63 years.
Marcene graduated from Gem State Adventist Academy, Caldwell, Idaho in 1950. She also attended Union College, Lincoln, Nebraska for a couple of years studying Secretarial Science. She had a variety of secretarial jobs in Idaho, Oregon and California for 30+ years.
Marcene was also very creative and loved to sew, knit and crochet. I think we all have a sweater or an afghan that she created either by hand or on her knitting machine. She was also an excellent cook. We all loved her Spanish Hong Kong that she created with her husband. She was in charge of the sauce and he pan fried the noodles to perfection.
Marcene and Phil loved to visit with friends, play games and enjoy a good meal. They also loved to get out and travel in their motor home and take an occasional cruise.
Marcene will be sorely missed by her husband, daughter, son and daughter in law, grandson, granddaughter, great granddaughter, brother, two sisters, nieces and nephews.
