Charlotte Louise (Strand) Gallapoo passed into heaven on Monday, March 11, 2019 at the age of 69 in Placerville, CA. Charlotte was born on October 14, 1949 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Oliver Theodore Strand and Jeanie May (Yount) Strand. She was preceded in death on August 31, 2015 by her husband, Ralph Charles Gallapoo. They were marred on April 15, 1982. She is survived by her daughter, Lydia Mae Gallapoo of Placerville, CA; sons Hans Lindstrom Schaffnit and Taj Lindstrom Schaffnit, both of Columbus, OH; her mother Jeanie Strand of Denton, TX;, brother Oliver T. Strand, III of Cape Coral, FL; sister Dolores (Lorie) Segaard of Port Clinton, OH; sister Dorothy Flores of Denton, TX; two grandchildren; and five nieces and nephews.
Charlotte had a true passion for her family, friends and faith, which were the most important things in her life. Her biggest joy was in serving those around her through her music and ministering to those in need. For many years, she and her husband Ralph, along with Lydia, dedicated their lives to missions work with the Native Americans in South Dakota, Montana, Minnesota and Canada.
For Charlotte, life was always enjoyed to the fullest and she felt that a stranger was just a friend she hadn’t met, yet. Her heart for those around her was as big as her joyful personality.
She loved many different activities like quilting, sewing, knitting, crocheting, gardening, singing and playing the guitar. She used all of her talents to help others as much as she could, no matter the need.
Charlotte will truly be missed because she touched so many throughout her life.
A memorial service will be help on Saturday, April 13, at 11:00 at the New Wine Christian Fellowship, 680 Bee St., Placerville, CA 95667.
