Obituary of WILLIAM FREDERICK WEGMANN

William Frederick Wegmann (“Bill”), 55, of San Francisco, CA and originally of Tonawanda, NY, passed away suddenly on May 6, 2018 in an automobile accident outside of San Francisco, CA. Bill was born August 25, 1962, the son of William and Peggy (Malloy) Wegmann of Tonawanda, NY. He attended Tonawanda High School, graduating with the class of 1980. Bill served briefly in the National Guard, and lived and worked in many states throughout the U.S. Bill’s life story is long and complex, at times he owned his own business and at others he grappled with formidable challenges. For the last decade he served as a pastor for the Homeless Church of San Francisco, reaching those desperately in need of Christ’s love, and served in a similar role in Los Angeles, CA before that. Surviving are his sister Ruth Ann Wegmann Hartcorn (husband David, son A. Michael) of Annapolis, MD, sister Barbara Wegmann of North Tonawanda, NY, and several cousins, an aunt, and an uncle. He was preceded in death by his father William Frederick Wegmann (died 1982) and his mother Peggy Wegmann (died 1995). Services and burial will be held in Western NY this summer.
